I had a growth ultrasound because my fundal height was measuring low at last appointment. The doctor said everything looked normal but said “the femur is on the shorter side, so that might explain why the fundal measurement is lower”. She didn’t elaborate but just said baby could be on the shorter side, and ended with “all good!”. Overall baby measured 6 lbs 7 oz. Even though she didn’t seem concerned, I’m a worry wort and of course started googling short femur just to see all the possibilities, DS, dwarfism etc. Dr just said weight looks good so we’re all good! All said “normal” at 20 week ultrasound and I never had additional testing. Can someone put my mind at ease that I shouldn’t be worrying about this? As we all know, we want everything to be perfect all of the time! I’ve read that anatomy scans this late in the game can be inaccurate too. I’m waiting for the doctor to set up a phone appointment so that we can discuss further.
